About the Concert
From April 11 to 16, 2025, the Feminale at HSM Basel will spotlight the often-overlooked repertoire of female composers. The festival merges education, art, and gender equality efforts to raise awareness among students and enrich the concert landscape in a lasting way.
The program includes portrait concerts, workshops, and panel discussions, focusing on composers such as Francesca Caccini, Fanny Hensel, and Lili Boulanger. Innovative formats, such as a concert without a visible program or performances of works by composition students, promise fresh listening experiences.
The festival is open to students, faculty, and a broader audience. Targeted publicity via social media and university channels ensures visibility.
The Feminale Festival will feature outstanding guests, including musicologist and pianist Prof. Dr. Natasha Loges, singer, musicologist, and artistic co-director of the new festival zeit:fluss in Sils/Engadin Prof. Dr. Anne-May Krüger, musicologist and philosopher, co-editor of MUGI, Prof. Dr. Nina Noeske, and conductor Anna Skryleva.
